My BusinessTristen Cosgrove, Financial Adviser, B.Com Dip FP AFP

Tristen’s friendly, sincere, and pleasant interpersonal style is soundly anchored in his core values of care, trust, and loyalty. His unwavering dedication to “doing what’s right for the client” emerges in the solidity of inquiry that occurs behind the scenes on their behalf, and in his attention to detail.

Tristen commenced in the accounting field in 1993, which then rapidly broadened his expertise to include financial planning and insurance from 1996. He has experience supporting individuals, companies, and trusts; and has been successfully self-employed since 1999 with an enduringly consistent client base.

Ideal ReferralSomeone with a medium to large amount of money who is enjoyable to work with and wants me to advise them right now for portfolio assets such as cash term deposits shares and managed funds

Top Problem SolvedSeeing the GFC very early (before it was called the GFC), I stopped investing more from September 2006 when the US yield curve inverted signalling a recession ahead, and exiting clients from the share market between a third of clients in October/November 2007 (at the peak), a third of clients in March 2008 and a third of clients in September 2008 then I exited myself and then we watched it drop. I was following it so closely in the GFC I felt it and knew in October 2008 with the US Government Bailout and the market held, then it was over - although it fell more - the worst of the real threats were over. I also told another local financial planner in late February 2009 that the market had stopped falling and the bottom was early March 2009. Felt like a Grand Final to me.

My Ideal Referral PartnerAn accountant, bookkeeper, tax agent, mortgage broker, solicitor or anyone who makes such referrals
